Wow - the nation's favourite chocolate is going Fairtrade!
Cadbury is aiming to get the Fairtrade Foundation certification for their Dairy Milk bars by the end of the summer. While we still love the smaller brands such as Divine, it's so important that the biggest manufacturers move to Fairtrade, otherwise there are still thousands of farmers who are left in poverty, created by low prices forced upon them by the big guys.
While we all like to support the small people, bringing Fairtrade into the mainstream will do wonders for helping lots more farmers - and that's the whole point, really.
Sadly Cadbury say that they can't yet get their other chocolate products certified as Fairtrade but hopefully this will follow behind.
